Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification: A Graduate Degree from a UGC recognised/ AICTE accredited University/ Institution with minimum 55% aggregate marks/ equivalent CGPA.

IBPS Score Requirement: Candidates should have valid IBPS Score Card obtained in Common Written Examination (CWE) for Probationary Officers (POs)/ Management Trainees (MTs) 2011-12 The Total Weighted Score (TWS) required from General Category candidates is 141 and score for Reserved Category (SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD) candidates is 116.
Other Qualification: The candidates should have proficiency in appropriate computer skills/ working knowledge of application packages used in office automation/ computer environment.

Age Limit (as on 1 July 2011): Minimum 21 years, Maximum 30 years

Pay Scale: Rs 14500 – 600/7 – 18700 – 700/2 – 20100 -800/7 – 25700

Application Fee: Fee for General and OBC category candidates is Rs 200 and fee for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates are Rs 50. Applications have to be submitted by the eligible candidates only ‘ONLINE’. Any other means/ mode of application including those in printed form are not acceptable.

The challan for payment of fees will be made available at the Bank’s website. Before depositing the fee Candidates have to take a print out of the challan (in duplicate) and the application fee must be remitted only in any of the branches of Indian Bank using this challan.

Selection Procedure: Selection for the post of Probationary Officer (PO) in Indian Bank will be made on the basis of performance in Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS in September 2011/ November 2011.
Depending upon the number of vacancies, Indian Bank reserves the right to call only those candidates who have valid IBPS score in the stipulated common written examination (CWE) for Interview and/or Group Discussion.

3-अधिमानी अर्हतायें:

  • प्रादेशिक सेना में न्यूनतम दो वर्ष की अवधि तक सेवा की हो, या
  • राष्ट्रीय कैडेट कोर का ’’बी’’ प्रमाण पत्र प्राप्त किया हो, या
  • केन्द्र या राज्य सरकार द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त किसी संस्थान से कम्प्यूटर अप्लीकेशन में प्रमाण-पत्र प्राप्त किया हो।

अधिमानी अर्हता के कोई अंक नही होंगे, बल्कि दो या दो से अधिक अभ्यर्थियों के बराबर अंक प्राप्त करने की दशा में चयन (श्रेष्ठता सूची) में वरीयता दी जायेगी ।

अनुसूचित जातियों, अनुसूचित जनजातियों और अन्य श्रेणियों के अभ्यर्थियों (केवल उ0प्र0 के मूल निवासी) के लिए अधिकतम आयु सीमा में छूट एतदर्थ प्रवृत्त शासनादेशों में निहित प्राविधानों के अनुसार अनुमन्य होगी। 5- चरित्र- अभ्यर्थी का चरित्र ऐसा होना चाहिये कि वह सरकारी सेवा में सेवायोजन के लिए सभी प्रकार से उपयुक्त हो सके, नियुक्ति प्राधिकारी इस सम्बन्ध में अपना समाधान कर लेंगें।

How to become an IAS/IPS Officer: Civil Services Exam

CIVIL SERVICES EXAM

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the civil services exam every year. The Civil Services Exam holds the key for entry in to a number of prestigious jobs in the country including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS)

IAS, IFS and IPS are the top three services of Group A, Central Services. The other Group A services including Indian Customs and Central Excise Service, Indian Revenue Service and Indian Postal Service

Civil Services Exam consists of preliminary exam (prelims), main exam (mains), and interview. The prelims are usually held in May /June. Mains are held in October/November. The exam is notified in December. Application forms can be obtained from designated post offices around the country and the exams are held in major cities.

A candidate is allowed to make four attempts. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste can make any number of attempts. Other Backward Class candidates are allowed seven attempts.

Eligibility:

Nationality: For IAS and IPS, only Indian nationals are eligible. For other services, subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees, (who arrived in India before January 1, 1962), and persons of Indian origin, who migrated from specified countries, are eligible.

Age limit: Between 21-30 years as on August 1 of the year of exam. Relaxation of age limit is available to SC candidates and a few other specified categories.

Education: A degree from a recognised University.

Prelims: You have to clear the prelims to qualify for the mains. You got to write two papers in prelims: General Studies, and a subject chosen by the candidate from a specified list of 23 subjects. Both papers are in objective type and are of two-hours duration each. Optional subjects include Civil Engineering, Commerce, Geography, Medical Science, and Indian History.

Mains: Marks in the written exams and the interview will determine your ranking. Based on your ranking and preference, you will be allotted one of the Services.

Mains comprise nine papers in all.
I.English (300 points)
II.Any one of the languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. (300 points)
III.Essay (200 points)
IV & V. General Studies (300 points for each)
VI-IX. Two papers each from the two optional subjects chosen by the candidate each paper 300 points.
The interview carries 300 points.

How to prepare:

General knowledge books and IAS guidebooks are available in plenty in the market. Besides, there are also magazines that provide tips to IAS/IPS aspirants. You may have to watch Indian and international news channels, and read newspapers/ magazines that deal with politics, economics, and business to keep abreast of current affairs.

It would be a good idea to enrol in a good institute for professional guidance. Many institutes offer IAS coaching classes. But before enrolling, make sure to check the credibility of the institute. Get information about the institutes and choose one that has consistently produced IAS toppers.
You may also want to get together some serious aspirants and form study circles. You could hold discussions, and debates on burning topics to sharpen your analytical skills, and learn to present your thoughts and ideas in a coherent manner.

While preparing for Mains, you need to practice writing your answers, so that you could learn to present your answers in a coherent manner.

1. Indian Air Force invites applications from unmarried male Indian citizens (citizens of Nepal are also eligible) for selection test in September 2011 to join as Airmen in Group ‘Y’ {Except Auto Tech, GTI & IAF (P)} trades. THE SELECTION TEST IS NOT FOR SELECTION AS OFFICERS/ PILOTS/ NAVIGATORS.

ELIGIBILITY
2. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

(a) Passed Intermediate/10+2/equivalent examination with Science, Arts or Commerce subjects with minimum 50% marksin aggregate and pass in each subject.OR(b) 03 years Diploma in any stream of Engineering from a Government recognised Polytechnic/Institute shall be permitted to appear for Group ‘Y’ {Except for Auto Tech, GTI and IAF (P) Trades} in Indian Air Force.

Note : – Exact aggregate percentage of marks up to first place of decimal for all subjects as mentioned in the Marks Sheet of Intermediate/10+2/equivalent/Diploma (For example, 49.9% should NOT be rounded off to 50%). Vocational Courses conducted by CBSE and Kerala Board recognised by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) are also eligible.

3. President, Central Airmen Selection Board reserves the right to shortlist the applications on the basis of available vacancies and number of eligible applicants.

4. AGE LIMIT. Born between 01 January 1991 to 28 February 1995 (both days inclusive).5. MEDICAL STANDARDS-(a) Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cm.

(b) Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm

(c) Weight: Proportionate to height and age.

(d) Vision: Minimum Visual Standard: Unaided 6/36 and correctable

(g) Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.

(h) Health: Candidates should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments.
Candidates must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
* Candidate should bring latest prescription and spectacles for corrected vision, if used. The prescription must bear the signature, stamp and registration number of Eye Specialist.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

6. Tenure & Training: Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up to the age of 57 years. Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) for 12 weeks at Basic Training Institute, Belgaum (Karnataka). On successful completion of JBPT, candidates will be allocated trades and sent for trade training of specified durations.
Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails
to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness
and discipline or is found to be medically unfit. AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING, THE AIRMEN WILL BE DEPLOYED ON GROUND BASED JOBS AS PER THEIR ALLOTTED TRADES (Job specifications given in Paragraph 7 below). ALLOTTED TRADE WILL NOT BE CHANGED ON CANDIDATE’S REQUEST / ANY GROUNDS.

7. Job Specifications: Group ‘Y’ {Except Auto Tech, GTI and IAF (P)} trades
involve jobs like: -

(a) Admin Assistant: As an Admin Assistant you will maintain and analyse records, files, information of personnel. You will also manage ration supplies, cook houses and Messes.

(b) Accts Assistant: As an Accts Assistant you will record and manage accounting of pay and allowances, equipment, logistics, transactions, public fund and cash flow etc.

(c) Logistics Assistant: As a Logistics Assistant, you are involved in the procurement, storage, handling inventory control and accounting of Military stores.

(d) Medical Assistant: Operating as Medical Assistant, you are made familiar with nursing and first aid. You are also involved in management of medical stores, dispensaries and ward supervision.

(e) Meteorological Assistant: If you are a Meteorological Assistant, you are trained to undertake weather observation and maintenance of meteorological instruments. You are also responsible for plotting of charts,
taking balloon observations and compilation of weather summaries.

(f) Environment Support Services Assistant (ESSA): This job involves maintenance of the fire fighting section, It also requires that you ensure the upkeep of hygiene of Air Force Camps.

(g) Automobile Technician: As an Automobile Technician you will carry out minor repair, service, maintain and drive all types of vehicles, cranes and automobiles.

(h) Communication Technician: As a Communication Technician you will operate, service and maintain all types of state of art communication devices, telephone exchange and radio transmission equipment.

(j) Ops Assistant: As an Ops Assistant you will operate various systems of Air Traffic Control Centre, Air Field and Air Defence System. You will be trained in operation of Radars, Display Units, reporting and tracking procedures of airborne weapon systems etc.

8. Pay & Allowances : During training, a stipend of Rs. 5,700/-pm will be paid. On completion of training, the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay will be Rs. 15,477/-pm (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs. 37,100/-pm (approximately) depending upon the rank attained. Other allowances such as Transport allowance, Fly/Para Jumping Instructor allowance, Leave Ration allowance, Composite Personnel Maintenance allowance, Family Planning allowance, Gallantry Awards allowance are also admissible. 9. Perquisites: Perks such as Ration, Clothing, Medical facilities, Accommodation, CSD Canteen facilities, Education concession to children, Recreational facilities, Free transport for school going children and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) are also provided as per the existing rules. Post retirement benefits include pension, gratuity and leave encashment. Not withstanding the above, Group Insurance Cover of Rs. 25,00,000/- at a premium of Rs.1,730/- per month,
is covered for all airmen and facility of Group Housing Scheme is also extended. Other facilities by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) are also extended for family of airmen.

10. Promotion:- Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Warrant Officer (MWO). Opportunities to become a Commissioned Officer also exist for those airmen who qualify the prescribed examinations, later during their service career.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

11. Written Test : Eligible candidates will be sent Admit Cards to appear for test scheduled to be held during September 2011 at the examination centres listed at Para 17. Candidates will be tested in English as per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA). Question papers will be objective type and bilingual (English & Hindi), except English Paper. Duration of Written Test will be 45 minutes. CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day.

12. Physical Fitness Test (PFT): All candidates who pass the written test are to undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes. Candidates completing the PFT in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds will be awarded additional marks on a sliding scale. Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.

13. Interview: Candidates who have passed the written test and PFT will be interviewed. Working knowledge of English is a prerequisite.

14. MEDICAL EXAMINATION: Candidates who qualify in the interview will be medically examined. Medical Examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards. Candidates declared Temporary Medically Unfit (TMU) will be required to report to the respective Airmen Selection Centre within a maximum period of 42 days for review from the date of Recruiting Medical Examination. Candidates declared Medically Unfit can avail the option for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) against their Unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government
Treasury/RBI/SBI through Military Receivable Order (MRO). The application for AMB along with original copy of MRO, Xerox copy of Unfitness Certificate and Postal Stamp worth Rs. 25/- affixed on a self addressed envelope are to be submitted to the respective ASCs for processing within seven working days from the date of issue of Medical Certificate.

NOTE: Candidates are advised to get tartar & stains removed from their teeth before appearing for the written test. Ears should be free of wax.

GENERAL

15. (a) Candidates must indicate three choices of the examination centre in order of preference. However, Central Airmen Selection Board reserves the right to allot any centre other than those mentioned in the application.
(b) REQUESTS FOR CHANGE OF EXAMINATION CENTRE OR DATE OF SELECTION TEST WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED. (c) Candidates not reporting for the test on due date and time will not be accommodated on other dates/shifts. (d) Incomplete applications will be rejected. (e) Candidates should be prepared to stay for the entire duration of the tests under their own arrangement. No TA/DA will be admissible. (f) Upper age limit as on date of enrolment is 22 years.

16. Candidate discharged from the Indian Air Force/Indian Army/Indian Navy or dismissed from any Government Organisation for any reason earlier are NOT TO APPLY.

17. Examination Centres: AMBALA, NEW DELHI, KANPUR, BARRACKPORE, JODHPUR, MUMBAI, BANGALORE, CHENNAI, BHUBANESWAR, BIHTA, GUWAHATI, SECUNDERABAD, KOCHI AND BHOPAL.

HOW TO APPLY

18. Application Form: APPLICATION SHOULD BE IN A4 SIZE PAPER ONLY. Non standard application formats will be rejected. The following are to be sent along with the application:-

(a) Three copies of unattested recent (taken on or after 14 May 2011) passport size COLOUR
PHOTOGRAPH
(front portrait without headgear except for Sikhs), ONE of which is to be pasted on the application form and the other two are to be stapled to the top left corner of the application form.

THE PHOTOGRAPH IS TO BE TAKEN WITH CANDIDATE HOLDING A BLACK SLATE IN FRONT OF HIS CHEST WITH HIS NAME, DATE OF BIRTH AND DATE OF PHOTOGRAPH CLEARLY WRITTEN ON IT WITH WHITE CHALK IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Photographs should be only on good quality of “Photo Paper” (Six photographs required during test).

(b) Attested copies of Matriculation Certificate in support of Date of Birth. Attested copies of Marks Sheet & Certificates of Educational Qualification (in single copy).

(c) One unstamped self addressed 24 cm x 10 cm WHITE ENVELOPE of good quality, stapled/pinned with the application form.

(d) Transfer Certificate, Son of Air Force Personnel (SOAFP) Certificate, NCC Certificate, Sports Certificates are not to be attached along with the application.

19. Candidates are to bring with them the following at the time of examination:-

(a) Four copies of their colour photograph which was submitted at the time of application.

(b) Original Matric Certificate and Marks Sheet with three copies (photo copy) of each for verification of date of birth.

(c) Original certificate and marks sheet of Intermediate/10+2/equivalent vocational courses or 03 years Diploma in any stream of Engineering from a Government recognised Polytechnic/Institute (as applicable) with three copies (photo copy) of each.

(d) NCC Certificate (A, B or C only), if applicable {Original & three copies (photo copy)}.

(e) Son of Air Force Personnel (SOAFP) Certificate/Discharge Book, if applicable (Original & one photo copy).

(f) HB Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener and Blue/Black Ball Point Pen.

NOTE: Candidates should not bring mobile phone or any electronic device or their personal belongings at examination venue. Candidates are permitted to carry only writing material, photographs and certificates mentioned at Para 19 (a) to (f) above at examination centre.

Applications are invited from Indian Male and Female candidates for filling up the posts of Constable in Railway Protection Force (RPF) / Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF). Details are given below:

Eligibility: (a) Education: The applicant must have passed the Matriculation or equivalent examination conducted by a recognized Board, Education qualification obtained from institutions other than recognized State Board or Central Board should be submitted along with the Government of India notification declaring that such educational qualification is equivalent to Matriculation/Xth Class for employment under Central Government.

4. Recruitment Process: Recruitment will be made based on the performance of the eligible applicants in a Written Examination, Physical Efficiency Test, Physical Measurement, Viva – Voce Test, Bonus Mars if any obtained and Documents verification.

5. Medical Examination: The applicants who are finally selected will be sent for a medical examination at a Railway hospital. They will have to qualify in medical category “B-1” as per the Indian Railways Medical Manual. Those wearing glasses or having flat foot, Knock Knee, Squint eye, colour blindness and other bodily defects are not eligible for appointment.

6. Training: The candidates will have to undergo a rigorous initial training in any one of the RPF/RPSF Training Centre or any such Institution as decided by the railways Administration in the event of their selection. The trainee recruits will be given a stipend of Rs. 5200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 2000/- + other allowances as admissible under the Railways Rules during the period of training. Passing the final examination at the end of the training is a must.

7. How to apply: (a) Examination Fee – An examination fee of Rs. 40/-is payable in the form of a crossed Indian Postal Order or a crossed Bank Draft. Cheque or Money Order will not be accepted. Female Candidates, applicants belongs to SC/ST category and ex-servicemen need not pay the examination fee.
(b) Application Form – The format of the application form is given in Annexure ‘A’ . Application Form can be downloaded from the Official website of Indian Railways www.indianrailways.gov.in or taken from the Employment News. Applications sent to the Nodal Chief Security Commissioner corresponding to the language chosen for the Question Paper. Only one application need to be sent. 1. Staff Selection Commission invites applications from Indian male candidates for 49,080 post of Constable in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) & Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

Pay Scale: Pay band – I Rs. 5200/- – Rs. 20200/- + Grade Pay Rs.2000/-.

Qualification: Matriculation or 10th class pass is the minimum education qualification.

Age: 18-23 years as on 01-08-2011. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-08-1988 and not later than 31-07-1993.

The recruitment will comprise of Height Bar, Prescribed Race, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Endurance test (PET), Written Examination, and Medical Examination.

5. FEE: RUPEES FIFTY ONLY(Rs. 50.00) payable through CRF Stamp or SBI Challan or on-line payment through account with the State Bank of India. Fee is exempted for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation.

6. CLOSING DATE: 04-03-2011. 10. How to apply:

(i) Off-line applications: The candidates should pay the fee of Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty Only.) by means of “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)” Only. CRFS are available at the counter of all Departmental Post Offices of the country. Recruitment Fee Stamps should be pasted on the application form in the space earmarked for the purpose and got cancelled from the counter of the Post office of issue with the date stampof the issueing Post office in such a manner that the impression or the cancellation stamps partically overflows on the Application Form itself, taking care at the time that the impression is clear and distinct to facilitate the identification of date and Post office of issue at any subsequent stage.After getting the Recruitment Fee stamps cancelled from the Post Office , the camdidate must submit their application to the concern Regional Office/Sub Regional Office of the Commission in the usual manner after completing other formalities .

(ii) On-line Applications: The candidates submitting their applications online should pay the requisite fee only through State Bank of India either in form of Challan or net banking.

(iii) Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Ex- Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying fee.
